The holiday season is upon us, and at Mallory Square, we’re excited to kick things off with a heartfelt tradition! This year, we’re thrilled to join Morguard’s North Pole Express , a four-week donation drive focused on bringing comfort and joy to children in foster care. We’ve partnered with Comfort Cases, an incredible nonprofit that supports kids in the foster system. We’d love for our Mallory Square community to join us in making this season truly special!
What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅
This is more than your typical holiday drive—it’s all about collecting essentials that can bring real comfort to children in need. The North Pole Express is Morguard’s annual nationwide initiative where communities like Mallory Square come together to make a difference. Over the next four weeks, we’re transforming our lobby into a festive drop-off spot ready for your thoughtful donations.
Who Are We Supporting? 💙
We’re proud to partner with Comfort Cases , a nonprofit founded by Rob Scheer, who knows firsthand the challenges of growing up in foster care. Rob started Comfort Cases to change the unfortunate reality that many children enter foster care with their belongings in trash bags. Comfort Cases provides these children with backpacks filled with essentials like new pajamas, books, blankets, and hygiene products.
These comfort cases aren’t just backpacks—they’re filled with dignity, hope, and love. Each item is carefully chosen to let children know they are seen, valued, and cared for during difficult times.
How Can You Get Involved? 🎁
We’re inviting our amazing Mallory Square residents to help us bring joy to kids in need this holiday season! From now until December 13th , we’re collecting the following items in our lobby:
New pajamas (all sizes)
Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48)
Children’s books (to inspire bedtime stories)
Small blankets & stuffed animals (for comfort and snuggles)
Baby washcloths (to help keep little ones clean)
Please remember that all items must be new and unused , and they should not be religious or holiday-themed to ensure they’re suitable for all children.
Have Questions? 📞
The Mallory Square team is here to help! If you have questions about what to donate or how the drive works, feel free to stop by the leasing office or give us a call. We’re always happy to guide you on how to make the most of this opportunity to give back.
Why Participate? 🤗
The holiday season is all about coming together, giving back, and spreading joy. By supporting the North Pole Express, you’re doing more than just donating items—you’re helping foster children feel loved and appreciated during a time when they need it most. Let’s show them they’re not alone this holiday season.
Let’s come together as a community and fill those comfort cases with love, Mallory Square family! 🎄✨
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make a real impact! 💛😊

St. Patrick's Day has a long history - in Ireland, the United States, and beyond. Historically, this day recognizes the patron saint of Ireland for his good deeds. In contrast, modern St. Patrick's Day events typically focus on Irish heritage and pride as a whole.
The United States is always heavily involved in the celebration of this holiday. Historians say the first St. Patty's Day parade actually took place in North America.
Today, celebrating St. Patrick's Day takes a lot of forms. Parades are still a classic choice, but bar crawls, restaurant specials, and block parties are also popular. No matter your style, you can find a way to partake in the festivities.
We love the flexibility and convenience that living in a Florida apartment community gives us. The best that Tampa has to offer surrounds our residents. While Florida may not be the first place you think of when St. Patrick's Day comes around, there are some great community events!
So, wear some green and check out the festivities going on in the Tampa community!
St. Patrick's Day Events in Tampa, and More!
Parades are the classic St. Patty's Day event, and the Tampa Rough Riders Parade is just around the corner. On March 16th, head to Downtown Tampa at 5pm for a family-friendly parade!

Celebrate From Home
Since March 17th is a Sunday, a lot of the festivities are on Friday and Saturday. Hosting a get together on the actual day may prove entertaining.
In our community, St. Patrick's Day celebrations are welcome. For specific guidelines or available spaces, reach out to our team! We would love to see how creative our residents can get.
Here's just a couple ideas that could work in your apartment home this St. Patty's Day:
For something more family friendly, potluck-styled Irish food could be a hit. Corned beef and cabbage are classics; however, there are other great Irish dishes. When in doubt, green colored sweet treats are always popular.
Party games are also a way to stay more tame - or go crazy. For more of a challenge, try bringing an Irish twist to existing party games!
Cocktails are a fun way to play into the green theme too. While beer is the typical choice, hosting a house party leaves room for creativity. "Lucky" cocktails or green mocktails sound delicious!
Celebrating March 17, 2024
Ultimately, there is a plethora of ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We highlighted a handful but look into some more options if nothing sounds like the perfect fit!
No matter your interests, you can find or create a celebration that fits your preferences.

Try A New Way of Topping Your Pancake
Syrup and butter might be a classic that can’t be beat, but there are a ton of different ways to top your pancake. From covered in candy to savory, consider trying something new! You may find a new favorite way to begin the day.
It might even be educational to learn how countries around the world top their pancakes. For example, Norwegian pancakes are often topped with jam and/or a sweet cheese called brunost. This sounds like a delicious combo and a great educational activity!
